   I've been living with a broken arm rest for years. I finally ordered a new set. The base is metal, not plastic. I've always been paranoid that a little stress on the armrest would break the plastic. Now I have an armrest I don't need to worry about.

   I have a number of older Herman miller chairs and have no desire to get rid of them because of the comfort and build quality. When the arm rests were no longer usable after years of office use, I was really glad to find this company. The replacements have a steel inserts instead of the original plastic and are otherwise identical to the original.

    These are better quality then the original armrest which had plastic bottom that attaches to the arm support. These have a metal base. The only compliant is you will need 1/4 20 machine screws vs. the OEM self-tapping screws. I would have gladly paid extra to include them as an option.
