Went with this foot ring for its aesthetics - I did not like the knob protruding on other rings. Plus this tightening mechanism compresses all around the cylinder which makes it less prone to loosening and wobble.

I used this with a stool height 10" cylinder.
Works great. The height adjustment on the ring is great, turn the entire ring to loosen, adjust height, turn ring other way to tighten.
