Great Replacement Cylinder
Posted by Adam on 22nd Jan 2021
I bought this to part to replace a gas cylinder. It is more difficult and time-consuming to adjust than a gas cylinder, but it is a great replacement cylinder for a chair that rarely needs to be adjusted.

Innovative Product

A very well done mechanical (jack screw) replacement for a gas cylinder. Product appears sturdy and made with quality. Because I am 6'7" tall I am using this replacement at its maximum extension. Seems to be holding up fine. Time will tell, but so far so good.

Great replacement for failing gas lift cylinders
Posted by Brian Meifert on 24th Aug 2020
Replaced the failing gas lift cylinder in my office chair with this screw lift instead. Works great and no more sinking and raising the chair several times a day. Wish I had found this sooner.

I changed to the screw type instead of cylinder due to no cylinders holding up. Works great no more hitting the floor .

Why aren’t theses on chairs in the first place?
Posted by Doc on 11th Dec 2019
After going through several pistons in ten years, I finally found this. The screw action of the spindle is more reliable and secure. No more sinking chair. I will be replacing all of my chair pistons in the house with these.

Changes are not always for the better.
Posted by Roger-N on 12th Feb 2018
These screw lift cylinders use to be the standard until the "new" gas lift cylinders came out. BUT!! They don't last long! My "new" home office chair with the "new" gas lift went 2 years! Chair still new, cylinder-garbage. Same for my work chair. It maybe went 5 years, not sure, then down 3-4 inches by the end of each day. Put in these screw lifts in literally 10 minutes. Find the perfect setting & it will still be at the perfect setting next year! If you do want a change, you do have to get under the chair & adjust it instead of reaching to the side, BUT!!! Worth every minute. Unless you want to buy & change out your gas lifts every couple of years. You can, but I would not recommend it!
