Very easy to install, fit exactly on my 20+ year old chair. Getting the old one out involved 2 people pipe wrenches, screwdrivers, a pry bar, and some very colorful language, but installing the new one was an absolute piece of cake. It took me longer to type out this review than it did to put the new cylinder in the chair and get back to work.

Specs were exactly as advertised. Great improvement over the original gas cylinder for the Chair. Easy to install.

Actually, I couldn't get the base off my old chair, so I had to replace both that and the cylinder. Dropped into the new base without issue and seems to work great.

Better than new

My chair has slightly higher rise than the old piston which is what I wanted. Better than new. The chair was in great shape but for the piston. Works beautifully. The item was shipped immediately by Chairparts but USPS sent it from Grand Rapids to Pittsburgh, then back to Grand Rapids, then back to Pittsburgh. I did get it in 5 days. Very impressed with this company.

Best Chair Repair

Have used our office chair for 22 years and the height lift gave out after about 10 years use. We purchased this part and attempted to repair the chair. It was a struggle to remove the old part but once removed, this new part was added to replace it. The chair is like new - this part saved us at least $1,800 to replace the chair!!!

Worked as expected. Watched the videos a couple times. Bought base, casters, strut, and dust aground and fixed chair right up. Much less expensive than a whole new chair. Thanks Chairpartsonline.com

New piston saves an old chair

I ordered a heavy duty replacement and brought my trusty chair back to life for a small fraction of what it would cost to replace it. The piston arrived in good time as promised. My only minor complaint was that it came with no instructions. However, after reviewing a couple of You Tube videos I completed the repair in less than 5 minutes. So far the new piston is working great. If it lasts 10 years like the old one, I'll be delighted.
