This common high-end conference room chair can be fixed, and we finally figured out how!

• Replacement gas lift cylinder for Steelcase Hollington chair
• This gas lift cylinder is a standard replacement, non-OEM cylinder
• 5" piston stroke adjustment range (up & down)
• 16" (415mm) total overall extended length from top to bottom
• Black
• High quality, non-OEM replacement part
• More than standard DIY required - see below

Attempt at your own risk and be sure to follow the instructions below:

1) Remove non-functioning piston from the chair.

2) Remove the spring from the tapered hole on the bottom of the seat. (Will not be used)

3) Remove the 1/4-28 x 1/2" set screw from the piston activation tab at the top of the tapered hole.

4) Remove the 2" outer support tube from the new replacement piston. (Will not be used)

5) Using a drop of blue thread locker, install a new 1/4-28 x 3/4" set screw into the piston activation tab. (not included)

6) Install new piston into the tapered hole.

7) Adjust the set screw until it almost touches the activation button on the piston.

8) Reassemble the base.

9) Test and adjust the set screw if needed.
